Check the Local Tape Device

Checking the status of a tape device is a fairly simple procedure. Here's an example.

Default status (don't need the "-f" option)
#mt /dev/rmt/0 stat

For second tape device
#mt -f /dev/rmt/1 stat

For third tape device
#mt -f /dev/rmt/2 stat
